It’s incredible!

The Professional Learning Institute celebrates its 15th anniversary this July as the first and oldest Kentucky Pre-Licensing educator.
We’ll have to have a party.
We also took a look back – and ahead.
What makes our day? What keeps hundreds of students in the region coming back?
Nothing makes a real teacher’s day more than seeing graduates take flight and soar. So we decided to shout it out.

New Name

“Advance” shouted out the big payback for real CE– and what real teachers care about.  You leave a PLI class ahead.  You “advance.” You’re not just “doing time.”
Ringing the cash register with one-time volunteer teachers and no real faculty is different. So is cramming 50+ bodies into a room once in a while, to save on rent, and turning on TV, saving on teachers. No real teachers there. But you can count on finding them at PLI, in person, one-to-one with you.  And they will be there for you when class is out.
PLI’s two basic promises, in every class, always has been “You will leave knowing more” and “we’ve got your back.”  Lot’s a luck calling a cash register school and getting help.
In short,  “Advancing” — full-time, all the time — is what we’re all about. So we put that in the school name.
Starting in March, PLI’s changed its name to “Advance – Professional Learning Institute.” It’s just the start of the ramp to our 15th Anniversary here.
We also have a New Home!

Classes each month are at the Hilton Garden Inn Mall St, Matthews, 400 Sherburn Lane Louisville, KY 40207. That’s right off the I-264 Shelbyville Road exit.  It’s a great hotel in a great place, with a major mall just a short walk across the parking lot. Great for families, rooms have microwaves and refrigerators, with a guest laundry and a eye-opening breakfast. All at the PLI discount rate.
Progress – another concrete hospital eyesore – bulldozed the beloved Breckinridge Inn.
Some think “Out with the old, in with the new.”  We think, what a privilege and an honor that we have alums who have been coming to PLI all these years. Some are older now, and (you know) wiser.
The good ol’ basics — knowledge, learning, teamwork, support 24/7 – are our foundation. That never will change. But a little remodeling and freshening is, well, advancing the ball.
