There are “few, if any, statues of women around Kentucky,” columnist Joseph Gerth pointed out in his Monday column.  He says “the closest thing is Carolina, the mare under Gen.” Castleman in Cherokee Triangle — and then quotes sculptor Pompeo Coppini, who says he sculpted Gen. John Hunt Morgan riding a stallion, not the general’s favorite horse, a mare, because “no hero should bestride a mare.”  “You can’t make this up,” Gerth chuckled.  He ought to try looking for a woman owned home inspection training school, like PLI.
